The Clemson Tigers football team had a great season. The made it all the way to the National Championship Game only to fall short to Alabama. The Tigers however, haven’t only had success on the field. Their Social Media Team is among the best in the Nation. The stats are staggering During the Tigers regular season they produced more than 250 videos, and 500 graphics which helped attract 521,197 new fans and followers of Clemson in that short span. The videos alone on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have had over 23 million views.
The goal of these videos and graphics are to “Tell our story “ Gantt and former PR man for the Tigers, he went on to say Every single day the task of our social media accounts is to help tell the story of what it’s like to be a Clemson Tiger. So every post on social media – whether it’s a photo, a video, an article or a graphic – its goal is to help answer the question of what it’s like to be a Clemson Tiger.” Members of the social media team went onto say that fun is one of the things they want to stress the most for recruits and fans
This story is relevant because it demonstrates how much impact Clemson’s social media team can have on the actual Tigers, in terms of support and interest. This increase in fans will generate more revenue and more die-hards will appear due to work that was made off the field.
