NBA slam dunk contest scores big on TV, social media–Kate Edwards

The NBA’s slam dunk contest, which takes place during All Star Weekend, proved to be a huge hit on social media this year, contributing to over 115 million video views for LaVine of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Gordon of the Orlando Magic’s matchup alone. In addition to the 50,000 tweets per minute in the final round of the contest, the NBA also surpasses the one billion follower mark across all it’s social media platforms.
