Snapchat recently added a new feature that gives the sport fans the ability to have live scores filtered into to their selfies during the 50th Super Bowl. The other social media platforms should be surprised and concerned with the latest new feature geofilter. It gives snapchat customers the ability to take a photo or video close to a selected sporting event which displays live scores. Geofilters have been extremely successful and have been installed in every NBA arena. Snapchat is looking to expand into the NFL and MLB possibly for next season. TechCrunch reports the “Live score geofilters saw 20 million views from 51 games.” Snapchat’s goal is to be part of the competitive market such as Twitter and apps specifically built to update live scores. Snapshots’s idea has no major problem’s and the fact that an app can bring in 20 million views of anything in one week, on a new feature is a company dream, especially if they could attract sponsors.
