YouTube gets Super Bowl ads before the Super Bowl – Christopher Markowitz

YouTube gets Super Bowl 50 ads weeks before the main event

YouTube is partnering with a website called AdBlitz to make Super Bowl Commercials available to watch online before the Super Bowl happens. Several brands have uploaded either sneak peaks or full commercials to AdBlitz’s YouTube channel. In 2015, 40% of the time that people spent watching Super Bowl commercials on YouTube occurred before the Super Bowl even kicked off.

Google, who owns YouTube, also announced the launching of a real-time advertising tool for the Super Bowl. The tool will allow brands to run advertisements on Google at specific times during the Super Bowl that coincide with the action that is taking place on the field. Google plans to use this too not only for the Super Bowl, but also for the Oscar Awards show.
