Will baseball umpires be benched for strike calling technology – Justin Ng

On Tuesday night it marked the first game ever in baseball having a strike calling technology. This took the place of the umpire. The technology is based on three cameras that is built in a computer that tracks the pitch of the pitcher. The technology is known as PITCHf/x and created by the company named Sportvision that specializes in technology to minimize human error. “This technology will undoubtedly improve the game of baseball and it’s umpiring, and would go a long way in boosting the performance value of the MLB. With the way that all sports are progressing into the tech age, we think it will only be a matter of time.”
