The New Orleans Saints along with the New Orleans Pelicans have decided to team up in the digital media department and create a whole new level of content. This new partnership will birth a digital media department that will cover both the football and basketball teams daily with a host of talented and professional writers and broadcasters. This department will be managed by Doug Tatum, says Greg Bensel, Vice President of Communications and Broadcasting. He also went on to say “through both of our teams’ websites and social media platforms we plan to bring daily reporting through a host of radio webcasts, online live-streaming video shows, photo galleries and, of course, updated articles and columns. He believes that, ”through both of our teams’ websites and social media platforms we plan to bring daily reporting through a host of radio webcasts, online live-streaming video shows, photo galleries and, of course, updated articles and columns.” This will include a Morning Report and an Afternoon Wrap show. The Morning Report will give fans an exclusive first glimpse inside the facility with a member of the organization.
They want to give the fans so much content that they will interact with these means on content, such as websites, social media, and the app. The Pelicans were creative in developing a game within the app. This game brings fans and even non-Pelican fans to the app for the game and are receiving content that they otherwise wouldn’t have gotten from not visiting the app, and you never know if you can make a sale or even a fan out of a stray visitor.
With so much experience in this digital media team and so many brains, they are definitely bringing something new to the sports industry in terms of digital media.
