This articles tells about five sports technology/digital media trends to look out for in 2014 but the one I found most interesting was the IBeacon. The IBeacon allows retailers or marketers to send messages directly to a users smartphone if they have the Apple store App. The IBeacon can be used to point out things to do and show available seats in a particular stadium. As well as the ability to direct fans to the closest restrooms, concessions, etc. without the need to develop an entirely separate stadium app. I chose this because I am a huge baseball fan and this is definitely something I am going to download. It solves the problem of people frantically looking for bathrooms and asking strangers, as well as the ability to notify those in the nosebleed sections of some available seats in a lower level.
