‘Selling Fun’ To Sports Fans In The Digital Era – Andrew Meyer

This article is able to touch on many of the issues that we have talked about in class, mainly the struggles of getting fans to actually come out to games, as well fans wanting to feel more and more connected to the teams they root for as we continue in the digital age. It talks about how consumption of online sports related materials only continues to grow, and how fans want more “out of stadium” experiences, which an app can help satiate. The importance of apps only continues to grow, and also serves as a way for fans to feel like they are more invested, by bringing this piece of the team with them wherever they go.
