This week ESPN unveiled its new app: the ESPN App. The ESPN App, which replaces the SportsCenter app, underwent a 360-degree makeover, including its name, logo, and interface. This simple, yet purposeful re-branding by ESPN extends a cordial familiarity of the dominant ESPN brand. With a less cluttered homepage, crisp text, and swipe capabilities, the ESPN app delivers on aesthetics. The ESPN App provides users with a more personalized experience, including a “Now” feature, which is essentially a Twitter feed of breaking news stories. Also noteworthy, ESPN has finally launched its app for tablets. The ESPN App will surely become a one-stop-shop for sports media.
