Sports Viewership Goes Digital – John Dolan

This article starts off by stating that 2014 was the most digital sports watching year ever recorded. That is an incredible stat that really puts into perspective the growth of digital technology in sports. The article continues to go into more detail about the breakdown of what type of technology was used the most, with desktop leading at 69%, smart phone at 16%, and tablet at 15%. While these numbers are pretty spread out, I can imagine the numbers coming closer together as the years go on. This article is important because it really is an eye opener to the amount of traffic digital sports is getting. While some people want to refuse that digital technology is taking over, these numbers so us that the money is in digital technology and we need to continue to improve are technology to keep that money coming.
