David Carr, Revolutionary Media Journalist, Dies at 58 – Zachary Cintron

This past week the media world lost a champion. David Carr was one of the first of a growing journalism field, and lead the way for many new media journalist. Even though Carr was more of an old media reporter, he certainly influenced many in the digital media landscape.

Carr survived bouts with a drug addiction that almost lead to his demise, struggling alcohol problems, and even a toe to toe fight with cancer. He rose above plenty of adversity to become one of the most loved New York Times media columnists. He even wrote a book on his struggles titled “A Night of the Gun”.
